There are 30 years acting as ACUPUNCTURIST especially in the public health system and helping in the training of professionals in this practice I have felt the need for a better qualification in studies of traditional Chinese medicine in the perspective of its philosophical, theoretical and pratical aspects, and still, with the thougth about the growing development of this medicine
in my country. The daily confrontations of major jarrings has also established limits on the effectiveness of such approaches practiced mainly in disharmony involving the central nervous system, especially cerebrovascular accidents and its sequels. Acting as a ACUPUNCTURIST of reference for the Family Health Program in my municipality, face still a great difficulty of basic actions for the prevention particularly linked to hypertension and diabetes , not to be the program of medications and monitoring of more severe cases without, however, a preventative approach based on the thought of traditional Chinese medicine. The excellent university of Tianjin is one of the main references for diseases of neurological involvement beyond what i've got a great friend and colleague acupuncturist who concluded that the degree of Master, Prof. Master Alberto Cantídio Ferreira and that pointed me in this University of Tianjin with a reference to my studies. So, i candidate to an honorable place in the masters course in acupuncture of your university.- 6 Years ago

MY BACKGROUND
The human anatomy was wonderfully inspiring me at the teenage age when I first realized that human body was incredibly complex and vulnerable. Even then, I was fascinated by the extreme complexity and sensitivity of the human. A growing curious, enthusiastic and full of questions in understanding the origin, growth, structure and function of living creatures led me in furthering my study in Life Science in Matriculation College after my high school. It was as similar as the foundation course and preparation before students entering a university.
Then I decided to further my first degree study in Bachelor (Hons.) of Physiotherapy at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia with the scholarship from the government. It was a 4 years programme, delivered in English. I had learned much valuable knowledge and gained priceless experiences about physiotherapy in shaping me to be qualified as a good physiotherapist. During the first year, my favourite topics in Anatomy and Physiology subject were Nervous System and Musculoskeletal System. Another subject which triggered my interest was Therapeutic Exercise. I was exposed to the massage techniques and I really enjoyed them as well. I felt a strong sense of satisfaction when I could help my family and patients by giving them massage, manual therapy, demonstrated and educated them the therapeutic exercises which were related to their condition in order to maximise their joint mobility, muscle strength and quality of life.
During the clinical setting, I was really excited to improve my knowledge and clinical skills in treating patients in outpatient clinic especially neurology and musculoskeletal cases such as stroke, spine and soft tissue injury cases. Moreover, I can gain more experiences when conducting stroke exercises class. The patients were highly motivated to restore their movements and living independently as in their previous life.
I participated in several activities in and out of the campus such as the educational camp and community services. It sharpened my skills of leadership, management, communication and team work. I was appointed as one of the facilitators for many educational camp programmes that involved primary and secondary students from rural area. Commonly, I would lead aerobics for early morning programs and gave them talks about ergonomics posture such as the way of lifting, the way of sitting in front of computers as well as writing and carrying bag. The aim was to prevent them from having back pain and at worse, from wrong posture that would lead to spine deformity such as scoliosis and kyphosis. Apart from that, I was a volunteer for the charity work for orphanage, old folks and flood victims. Sometimes, I volunteered to help physiotherapist treated and conducted group exercise for stroke patients in National Stroke Malaysia Association (NASAM) which was under non-government organisation.
After graduating in November 2013, I am committed to continue my professional development. I am working in physiotherapy field in clinic and rehabilitation centre. I have attended several conferences and classes for improving my knowledge and manual handling in treating patients. I have learnt wide range of practices to improve people’s quality of life whether from recovering from injury, operation or living with a long term condition. The development of such skills has enabled me to form which platform upon to build and is proved to be essential when observing patients, implement treatment plans and monitoring their progression.
More excitingly, I was been introduced about the acupuncture techniques by attending a short course since a year ago. It was initiated with a patient who was diagnosed as slipped disc and unable to recover with physiotherapy sessions. Then, the patient tried other alternative with oriental medicine by acupuncture and chiropractic. The patient recovered fully after following few sessions of this treatment. The patient suggested to me to learn about this techniques. After attending the course, I am applying to my musculoskeletal patient the techniques with limited knowledge since it was only a short course. However, my patients were really satisfied with the result after combining physiotherapy intervention and acupuncture skills because they recovered quickly. I have to explore more about these oriental techniques since it is effective to the patients.
The second case was one of my secondary teacher got diagnosis as adenomyosis which cause heavy bleeding during menstruation and doctor advised her to expel her uterus. She asked me if I able to treat her by using acupuncture techniques and for sure I did not know since it is related to reproductive system and I was not learning it. Then she told me that she went to Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. After few sessions did the treatment including acupuncture skills, she recovered fully without undergo operation and loss her uterus.
Started from that, I am planning to further my study in acupuncture since many of us nowadays did not realised about the benefits of this Traditional Chinese Medicine.
STUDY PLAN IN CHINA
I would like to apply for the Master’s Degree in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina in China because from my current experiences, I am getting to know the great benefits of acupuncture towards the many conditions and diagnosis regarding health problems. This caught my attention and created a thirst of knowledge in me to study my chosen course. I would like to gain deeper theoretical knowledge and practical experiences in treating patients and help them during recovery phase.
During my study, with great hidden abilities in myself, I will try to come up with the best of everything whereby I will cooperate and contribute with lecturers and colleagues in carrying out research and exploring immense exciting mysteries in the field of acupuncture. I have to grasp systemic and solid Traditional Chinese Medicine basic theory and special knowledge and techniques of the discipline. I want to know a vast amount of information about location of the points, the method of needle been inserted into each point and the clinical indications, contraindications, and precautions for the use of specific trigger points. In addition, I want to learn about specific point for pricking the needles to control the pain including the pre and post-operative pain, manage the conditions related to musculoskeletal system, spinal rehabilitation, nervous system, endocrinological and metabolic disease, cardiovascular disease, senile, women’s health and beauty and other conditions and body system which can be treated with acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina.
Besides, I want to be familiar with domestic and international development on acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina. It will provide me the latest theory, knowledge and techniques within this area. Finally I am able to analyse and think clinically which lead to treat the common diseases of the discipline with acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina techniques.
During the semester break, if I am given an opportunity to be a volunteer, I want to take part in medical screening or treating patient during catastrophe or natural disaster's victim.
After completion of my master’s studies, I will widen the brain-minded of my community about the benefits of this complementary medicine instead of taking medication or undergo operation in treating their diseases. I will give a talk to many private or government institutions regarding the benefits and promote the treatments as well. I want to take part for giving lecture to physiotherapy students about the acupuncture subjects since during my time, we just know the name and justify the effectiveness by research in journals without learning the skills appropriately. Meanwhile, my voluntary activity will be continuing and I would like to involve in MERCY Malaysia as a volunteer.
For long term plan, I hope to be able to take part in maximising my country’s research on treatment principle and mechanism of acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina. This will benefit its economy and enhance the living standards of health of my compatriots. I want to do collaboration with physiotherapy department in hospitals to treat patients by using acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina techniques. This awareness hopefully will help the peoples to live independently to the maximum age. I want to be expert and specialised in physiotherapy and acupuncture field.
REASONS TO STUDY IN CHINA
The acupuncture, moxibustion and tuina is including within the Traditional Chinese Medicine itself. So, this treatment is an ancient medicine coming from China. Some fact stated that acupuncture has a clearly recorded history of about 2,000 years, but some authorities claim that it has been practiced in China for some 4,000 years. I would like to explore this field from their own roots.
When I read the books, watching the news, analysing and observing the people of China, I am really impressed by the way these individuals have proved themselves to be dedicated to their work and with true efforts they have set China as a successful example for other third world developed countries. Many of my patients and colleagues in workplace are from Chinese races that are really kind and full of courtesy. They are really hardworking and well-organised with their business. Moreover, most of the employers are well warm-welcomed the employee who is able to speak mandarin. Nowadays, mandarin will be the third language in our nation instead of our own language and English. It is my intention to speak mandarin fluently and I think living in China is easy for me to practice this language successfully.
The fast growing economy, technological advancement and the global ranking education institutes of China with high reputation makes great aspirations to the students and professionals for the better career perspectives. Such kind of positive has boosted my confidence further and I am highly satisfied with the decision I have taken. All these reasons put together make China as an ideal place for me to further my Master’s Degree.
In conclusion, I am really hope this application will receive your favourable consideration and I will be happy to provide any additional information that u may need. I look forward to receive your positive feedback.
